Sweet Corn - 1 cup Grated Cheese - 1/3 cup Potato - 1 medium sized Maida (All-Purpose Flour) - 1 tbsp 2 tbsp Cornflour - 1.5 tbsp Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 tsp Pepper Powder - 3/4 tsp Oregano - 1/2 tsp Bread Crumbs - as needed Salt - to taste Oil for FryingPreparation Time : 15 mins Cooking Time : 20 mins Makes : 30 balls
Method
Rinse potatoes and cut them into halves. Pressure cook for 4-5 minutes until soft. Peel off the skin and mash it. Cook sweet corn for 5 minutes with a little salt and the required amount of water. Drain the water completely and set aside. In a blender, add the cooked sweet corn and blend it to a coarse mixture. Do this in batches and collect it in a bowl. Add the mashed potato, grated cheese, 1 tbsp of maida, cornflour, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, pepper powder, oregano, and salt. Mix well to form a thick dough. Shape the dough into balls and arrange them in a plate. I made a few balls for the sake of this guide and reserved the rest for later use. In a bowl, take 2 tbsp of maida and add a little water to make a thick paste. Dip each ball in the maida mixture, coat it, and dip it in the breadcrumbs. Make sure it is coated evenly. Heat oil in a pan and deep-fry the balls in small batches until they turn golden brown. Drain them on tissue paper. Serve the corn cheese balls hot and enjoy!Popcorn Balls
