Is Passover and Other Feasts Only for the Jews?

Hi Emmaleigh,

Passover is a Jewish holiday and why would anyone else want to celebrate it? Wouldn't they even know how to celebrate it? I don’t understand what other 'feasts' you are referring to.

Judaism is a serious religion that requires a great deal of study. I don’t think people should casually participate in Jewish traditions without a deeper understanding and commitment.

It is important to respect and allow others to practice their beliefs. Everyone will be blessed in the end, regardless of their religious background.

Understanding Passover: A Time of Deliverance

I have been to several Passover Seders where non-Jews were welcomed and participated. And I can assure you, my non-Jewish wife and her family do not mind if I help decorate their Christmas tree.

Passover commemorates the deliverance of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, led by the prophet Moses. It is an eight-night US or seven-night Israel holiday that celebrates God’s choosing of the Israelites as His people and freeing them from slavery. This event was witnessed by thousands of people as God revealed Himself and presented the Holy Torah to His people.

While Passover is a religious obligation for Jewish people, it is not mandatory for non-Jews to participate. However, they are free to adopt the practice if they wish. For instance, they can clean their entire house until it is completely free of chometz, or they can draw up a contract with a non-Jewish neighbor about the ownership of chometz food.

Scriptural Significance of the Feasts

There are indeed a lot of scriptural teachings that can be gained by observing Jewish feasts and holidays. The Millennium will see the celebration of these feasts by both Jews and Gentiles, so it is beneficial to familiarize oneself with them.

Scriptures Supporting the Importance of the Feasts

Hebrews 9:27#8220;And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Romans 3:10#8220;As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one:

Romans 3:23#8220;For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God:

Romans 6:23#8220;For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord:

Romans 5:8#8220;But God commendeth his love towards us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

John 3:16#8220;For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believed in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Revelations 21:8 mentions those who are fearful, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone.

Sermon: Salvation Through Belief in Jesus

If you are seeking salvation, a simple prayer can guide you:

God, I come before you today a sinner and I admit that I am on my way to Hell. I am sorry for my sins and I desire to turn from them and to ask for your mercy on my soul to save me from my sin. I believe that Jesus came to earth 2000 years ago as the Son of God and died on the cross to pay the payment for my soul. I believe He was buried and rose again, showing He has the power to forgive my sins and to give me a home in Heaven. Please cover my sin with your blood and give me your righteousness right now!! Thank you for saving my soul and help me to live for you.

God's love and salvation are open to anyone who seeks Him. Regardless of one’s background, embracing Jesus as your savior can lead to eternal life.
